We understand that families and caregivers can't always wait for help. While Pitre Promise is still in its founding stage, assistance is available today through trusted emergency help resources. If you or a child are in danger, please reach out to the child abuse hotline or the national domestic violence hotline immediately. As our nonprofit develops its programs, we promise to connect families and caregivers to existing resources. No child should have to wait for safety, and no caregiver should feel alone.

The Pitre Promise Project is expanding, and with this growth comes the necessity for strong leaders and dedicated volunteers who align with our mission of protecting children and supporting families in crisis. We are officially continuing to accept applications for both Board Member positions and Volunteer roles. As we strive to enhance our community’s emergency help resources, including promoting the child abuse hotline and the national domestic violence hotline, we welcome those who are passionate about making a difference.
Louisiana Safe Haven Law allows a parent to leave a baby up to 60 days old at a designated Safe Haven site, ensuring a safe option for those in need. Safe Haven locations include hospitals, fire stations, police stations, and emergency medical service (EMS) providers. No questions are asked, and the parent will not face criminal prosecuti
Louisiana Safe Haven Law allows a parent to leave a baby up to 60 days old at a designated Safe Haven site, ensuring a safe option for those in need. Safe Haven locations include hospitals, fire stations, police stations, and emergency medical service (EMS) providers. No questions are asked, and the parent will not face criminal prosecution for surrendering the baby at an approved Safe Haven site. The infant will receive necessary medical care and will then be placed into the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
